Dr. Scheidt was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri. He completed his undergraduate degree of Biochemistry in the School of Agriculture at the University of Missouri in 1994. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Missouri in 1999. He then completed a five-year residency specializing in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, focused on the surgical and medical care of both pediatric and adult aged patients with Ear, Nose and Throat conditions.
Immediately after completing residency training in 2004 he was hired as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri. He continued to teach, perform research and provide medical and surgical care to patients at the University until opening Missouri Ear, Nose and Throat Center with Dr. Kinney in 2008.
He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology based on his training and completion of examination in the specific areas of General Otolaryngology, Otology, Facial Plastic Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, and Pediatric Otolaryngology. He maintains active Board Certification, completing annual continued medical education and Board required evaluation.
Dr. Scheidt has a busy private practice with specific interests in the areas of Pediatrics (ear infections, tonsil and adenoid conditions), Head and Neck Surgery (surgical management of diseases/tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid and parotid glands), Otology (medical and surgical treatment of ear infections and hearing loss, hearing reconstruction, Bone Anchored Hearing Aid implants, and cochlear implants), Laryngology (medical and surgical treatment of disorders and disease of the vocal cords/voice box), and Rhinology (medical and surgical treatment of sinus/allergy disease).
He enjoys spending time with his family and being active outdoors. He has been married to Nicky since 1999, and has two kids, Greta and Toby.
