Michelle was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri. She received a Bachelor of Health Science in Communicative Disorders with Summa Cum Laude distinction from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1991. She received her Master's Degree in Audiology with honors at the Washington University's Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, Missouri in 1993.

Following her training, she was hired as a clinical audiologist at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. She enjoyed working with patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric, who had varying degrees and types of hearing loss. She used her experience in hearing aid fittings and maintenance, cochlear implant evaluations and follow-up, as well as balance problems to improve patient’s lives in this setting for 15 years.

In 2008, she joined the Missouri Ear, Nose, and Throat Center, where she continues to use her training and expertise to evaluate each individual's hearing needs. She continues to enjoy working with children and adults. Her attributes include skillfully assessing each patient, child or adult, with a thorough hearing evaluation. She can test a patient of any age, newborn through adult. She possesses the patience to make sure each patient and his or her family understands the results of their testing and recommendations. Her experience then allows her to work with each patient to determine the best option for hearing rehabilitation. Her expertise is in helping hearing impaired children and adults get the best access to spoken language as possible given their degree of hearing loss which might include hearing aids, assistive devices, cochlear implant, or osteointegrated hearing device.

Patients return to Michelle and are referred to Michelle for her thoroughness, attention to detail, and caring attitude.

Michelle’s goal is to help each child or adult reach their fullest hearing potential. She considers her greatest accomplishments professionally to be helping individuals hear things they don’t remember hearing and listening to them talk about the changes they notice in their lives.

Michelle has a husband and three children. She enjoys attending her children’s sporting events. They enjoy outdoor time together whenever possible. In her free time, Michelle enjoys reading, walking, fishing, and traveling.
